Pentastic - version #2

24” wide x 36” height on textured paper made from 100% cellulose fibers (Hahnemühle) - created with very high archival standards

Painted completely within a vector graphics program called Inkscape - April, 2024

I created a pentagon, and then pondered - “what next?”

Every few days I returned to the pentagon and tried a number of options.

After many weeks of experimentation, the whole painting came together.

I used pentagon shapes with different sizes, colors, and textures.

They were assembled in what I thought was a playful and colorful arrangement.

The intersection of pentagons develops interesting triangular and quadrangle shapes.

After viewing Pentastic for a few weeks, I wanted to further enhance it with version #2.

The second version replaces the blue color with a burgundy, provides a more textured background, and more contrast.

1 print was finished.

Red River Palo Duro’s paper has an excellent texture which accentuates features in the print.
