Organic Forms #6 - Lady in Blue

Lady in Blue was printed on Red River Paper’s Palo Duro - October 2024

One print was made at 24” wide x 48” tall.

(A proof was made at 24” wide x 36” tall.)

This is a variation on my fifth view of a woman’s body.

In Organic Forms #5, I tried to use a softer technique combined with printing on Washi paper.

In Organic Forms #6, I used the form from #4, but created a bolder idea, similar to Organic Forms #7.

In the background I attempted to give it more of a grainy appearance.

This started with a woman wearing jeans and a blue blouse.

Decided to also give her blue & white sneakers.

Then I walked by a young woman with dyed bright blue hair.

That was my inspiration for the Lady in Blue.

I attended college in Baltimore, adjacent to the Baltimore Museum of Art.

Weekly I went to the museum to study Matisse’s Blue Nude 1907.

This is also an homage to Matisse and his blue ladies.

Pigment ink combined with Red River’s paper will last for over 100 years with UV protection.

Price includes a simple frame and Acrylic with UV protection and glare.
