Abstract - Flight Lift

Painted completely within a vector graphics program called Inkscape - May, 2023

This is a continuing series of abstracts on canvas studying the properties of flight.

One of the Fluid Dynamics main properties is the Bernoulli principle - of how lift is created by a wings design.

The painting started as a study of lift concept.

It then metamorphosed into an abstract painting

As in all my work creating the final print involved making a series of test prints.

After each sample run, I went back and modified Flight Lift even more.

This took about 3 months to create.

After creating the final, we let the print sit for 4 weeks.

It takes that long for ink to fully dry on canvas.

We then placed 2 layers of a coat to protect it - if the coating was done too early, the dark colors would have bled.

1 print on 100% cotton paper was finished.

It is 36" wide x 24" height.

Price includes frame and high quality acrylic which protects reduces fading from sunlight and minimizes reflection..
