Acer Ariadne in the Fall

Painted completely within Inkscape - August 2025
The special species of Japanese Maples, called Acer Palmatum, have always fascinated me.
We have one tree called an Ariadne that starts each spring with beautiful green/white leaves.
In the summer, the leaves are solid green. In the fall, the tree has yellow, orange, and red colorations.
Late this summer, after completing Acer Ariadne, we saw it start to lose some leaves.
I decided to repaint the tree in fall colors.
I opted to use a modified brown and textured background to highlight the beautiful leaves.
This is printed on Hahnemuhle’s Cotton Rag paper, meeting archival standards.
The paper’s surface and thickness allows for rich colors.
One print was made at 24” wide x 36” tall and one print was made at 12” wide x 18” tall.
