Acer Ariadne

Painted completely within Inkscape - May, 2025

The special species of Japanese Maples, called Acer Palmatum, have always fascinated me.

We have one tree called an Ariadne that starts each spring with beautiful green/white leaves - in the summer, they are solid green.

Last fall, I decided to paint its beautiful leaves.

The stems and leaves were designed as a rhythmic pattern, against the background.

I opted to use a textured black and brown background to highlight the beautiful leaves.

Late this spring, I finally completed the art.

This is printed on Hahnemuhle’s German Etching paper, meeting archival standards.

The paper’s surface and thickness allows for rich colors.

One print was made at 24” wide x 36” tall.

Digital prints and larger sizes are available - contact me for more information.
